Practices Resources experienced a ransomware assault on April 12, 2022. The service provider started a forensic investigation right away after learning of the compromise, according to the breach notification letter sent to the California Attorney General. Practice Resources conducted an investigation to ascertain the specifics of the ransomware assault and to establish which personal data had been susceptible to illegal access. According to the findings of the investigation, the hackers might have acquired data such as full names, treatment dates, addresses, health plan numbers, and medical record numbers. Practice Resources were unable to locate any information misuse notwithstanding the conclusion.
Following the discovery of the attack, and on behalf of 28 healthcare clients, the service provider sent breach notification letters to all those affected by the incident. To reduce the risk of harm, the letter outlined the steps impacted persons should take to protect their identity, credit, and personal information.
